BES has increased its design team to 44 with 14 new employees

After a sustained increase in demand for design-oriented projects in the past financial year, BES, the Rochdale-based specialist for the implementation of complex projects for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, has added 14 new positions to its design team.

The move follows a record year for BES with 10 independent design assignments completed in the last 12 months, representing a total value of £ 2.5 million. The company has also completed a similar number of projects totaling approximately £ 50 million that include design, engineering, construction and commissioning over the same period.

The design projects, which are located across the UK and encompass the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, healthcare and medical device sectors, have leveraged the expertise of BES’s multidisciplinary design team, including process, architectural, HVAC and electrical engineering. Many of the assignments, which include both feasibility studies and concept design, resulted in turnkey supply contracts using BES ‘integrated service. Much of the design work done by BES was process-oriented and highly complex, which confirms the company’s reputation as a leader in its field.

Design services have been an integral part of BES ‘multidisciplinary offering since the company was founded nearly two decades ago. The company focuses on early engagement to ensure value development, buildability as well as cost and schedule security in the design phase, and uses its broad knowledge and experience to support customers in making informed decisions about their investment projects. The 14 new roles span a variety of design disciplines including process engineering, architecture, HVAC and electrical engineering, adding 44 professionals to the company’s design team.

With major investment projects on the horizon, BES continues to seek talent to join its design team, and additionally train its own skills with its apprenticeship program. In addition to investing in people, BES has also invested in a variety of advanced technology platforms to support effective collaboration, accuracy and efficiency, and to ensure the company maintains its position at the forefront of its industry.
